FAST FIRE NETWORK: Helping make Mandeville Canyon safe and insurable
The greatest danger for Mandeville Canyon is an ember-driven urban conflagration. Importantly, ember exposure is not uniform. Even homes that are next to each other can have very different probabilities of catastrophic damage in an urban conflagration.
Working with Fast Fire Network, MCA will complete a “fire spread analysis” for Mandeville Canyon. We will identify those areas of our community at greatest risk from an ember-driven fire (typically from the east, like the Getty Fire that started near the 405).
We will also identify neighborhoods where early evacuation is particularly important.
We hope to provide individual homeowners with a full appreciation of their specific wildfire exposure in different urban conflgration scenarios.
