


Kody Stone is a highly experienced wildland firefighter, Nationally Registered EMT, and certified instructor dedicated to wildfire suppression, community protection, and professional training. With hands-on experience on the fireline and a background in public health policy, Kody brings real-world expertise, leadership, and a strong commitment to safety and education to the Fast Fire Network. He specializes in translating complex firefighting tactics into practical knowledge for homeowners, agencies, and aspiring firefighters in high-risk wildfire areas like the Santa Monica Mountains.
Professional Experience
Beckwourth Hotshots, United States Forest Service (May 2024 – Nov 2024) Responded to wildfires across diverse topography and fuel types nationwide. Conducted defensive firing operations around structures and critical areas, built firebreaks in challenging terrain, and supported multi-agency missions to protect communities and National Forests.
Wildland Firefighter (E-312), United States Forest Service (May 2023 – Nov 2023) Safeguarded natural resources and communities through tactical firefighting while minimizing environmental impact. Led fuels reduction projects to restore healthy ecosystems, conducted community fire prevention outreach, performed daily fire engine maintenance, and provided emergency medical care at incidents and vehicle accidents.
Emergency Medical Technician, Anteater Emergency Medical Services (April 2021 – April 2022) Delivered quality medical support at large on-campus events (including graduation for 1,000+ attendees), vaccine clinics, and understaffed shifts. Logged equipment, documented incidents, and coordinated patient transport.
